CHICAGO, IL. – Notre Dame University travels to Chicago to take on Loyola University-Chicago for a Friday/Saturday series. Puck drop is set for 8pm on Friday and 11am on Saturday.
SCOUTING: NOTRE DAME
The Irish are at 8-2 in the CCWHA, and have a 9-3-1 ACHA record for the 2015-16 season. They are led by Kiera Dwyer who has racked up 30 points (19g, 11a) in 13 games played. Dwyer is averaging 1.50 goals per game which is No. 3 in the league, 1.50 assists per game which puts her at spot No. 5, and 3.00 points per game to put her at No. 3 in that category for league play as well. Gretta Steiguaf has managed to grab 19 points (13g, 6a) while averaging 1.33 goals per game and 2.00 points per game. Jacqueline Dunn is the third spot for Irish point leaders with 14 (5g, 9a).
Regina Engel has been in goal for Notre Dame with a 3-1-1 record while recording two shutouts and averaging 2.28 goals against a game. Allison Stankowicz has earned a 4-2-0 record, while averaging 3.76 goals against per game and snagged one shutout this season. Sam Ayala has tallied a 2-0-0 record after allowing just 2.00 goals against a game.
In the Irish’s last games played, they took on league member Aquinas College and came away with the sweep of the Saints, 5-4 (OT) and 4-0. Dwyer registered 7 points (5g, 2a), Steigauf grabbed a goal and an assist, while Dunn tallied a single assist and Marissa Kivi put in two goals. Engel and Stankowicz each grabbed a win on the weekend.
Loyola-Chicago sits at 5-7 in the CCWHA with Torey Reinbold leading the way with 12 points (7g, 5a). Andrea Malmquist has tallied 11 points (4g, 7a) while Kristen Sutera has also grabbed 11 points (1g, 10a). Sutera averages .83 assists per league game.
Kimberly Riley has earned a 5-7 record for Loyola in net, picking up a .768 save percentage. Riley as averaged 7.08 goals against per game this season.
The Ramblers’ last games were against Central Michigan back in November, where LUC completed the sweep with scores of 7-3 and 9-2. Riley was in net and picked up 32 saves on 37 shots on net. Reinbold led the way with seven points (5g, 2a) while Malmquist gathered seven points as well (3g, 4a). Giselle Medina found the back of the net twice, Anne Welty tallied a goal and an assist while Chloe Zinter ans Ashley Komer each had two goals and assist each. Sutera had four helpers in the sweep for Loyola-Chicago and Hannah Bergom also registered a goal.
LAST TIME OUT
The last meeting between Loyola-Chicago and Notre Dame was last season, where Notre Dame came out with one win, 4-0, and the second game ended in a stalemate, 3-3. Stankowicz picked up a win for the Irish while Steigauf tallied four points on the weekend (2g, 2a) and Dunn grabbed a single goal in the tie. Reinbold and Riley each registered a goal in the last meeting for Loyola-Chicago, while Malmquist ad Sutera each tallied an assist.
