FLINT, MI – The Central Michigan University Chippewas face off against University of Michigan-Flint this Saturday and Sunday (12/5 & 6). Central has played to a 0-7-1 CCWHA record (0-9-1 ACHA) while UM-Flint has recorded a 3-7-0 overall record.
SCOUTING- CENTRAL MICHIGAN
Sam Jenkins leads the Chips with 16 points (6g, 10a) this season. Jenkins averages 1.00 assists per game and 1.75 points per game in league play. Olivia Soumis (8g-2a) and Mary Frank (3g-5a) are in the top three CMU points leaders behind Jenkins.
Alex La Rue is the lone goaltender for Central. La Rue has averaged 7.64 with a .805 save percentage. The Chips come off a weekend series with Loyola-Chicago. LUC tallied the wins, 7-3 and 9-2. Frank registered a two points (1g,1a) during the series as well as Jenkins (1g,1a). Soumis tallied both of the assists in the second game of the series, while La Rue stopped 88 or 104 shots on net.
SCOUTING: University of Michigan – Flint
Katie Bramble is the top point leader for UMF with five points (4g-1a). Lauren Barella (2g,3a) and Kelly OReilly (2g,3a) round out the top three. Ashley Rasmussen has seen time in six games, grabbing a 1-5 record so far this season. Rasmussen averages 8.13 goals against per game while having a .714 save percentage. Barella has also seen time in net, snagging an 0-2 record with a .933 save percentage.
UM-Flint enters the weekend after a tough series against Aquinas College, losing both games 15-1 and 4-1. Barella saw time in net for the second game, stopping 73 of 77 shots on net while tallying a goal in the first game. Oreilly registered an assist, Bramble put a goal in and Rasmussen topped 53 of 68 shots on net against the Saints.
